History
Antech Labs was established in 1974 to design and manufacture communications antennas for the commercial and amateur radio marketplace. Our introduction into the professional audio video market started later that same year, when a contract was received for the design and installation of a professional discotheque sound and lighting system for the St. Louis Airport Marriott Hotel. Following this original installation, thirty-seven more custom systems were installed nation-wide, placing us solidly into the professional audio video marketplace.
We expanded our facility in 1979, installing a large professional showroom and a multi-track recording demonstration studio. We were known for being the only dealer in the United States to display and stock the entire line of JBL Professional Studio Monitors.
By 1983, we had outgrown our Webster Groves facility and moved to Creve Coeur. Our new location had a larger showroom supporting both residential and professional products. A large service shop was added with seven certified technicians performing repairs to almost any electronic product. Professional products were added including AKG, Ampex, AMX, Harrison, Neumann, Otari, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony Professional, UREI and many others. Our high-quality residential products included Bang and Olufsen, B&W, Denon, McIntosh Laboratory, Nakamichi, Teac and Technics. Our sponsored clinics were very popular and maintained the value of your investment.
1992 brought the closing of Antech’s residential products showroom in 1992. Doing this allowed us to concentrate exclusively on Professional AV products, installations and services. We moved to a centrally located building in Sunnen Business Park in Maplewood, Missouri where we are today.
